在魁北克法語裡，tantôt 是那種一開口就暴露加拿大人身分的小字。歐洲標準法語用 tantôt 指「今天下午」；魁北克人把它挪作「剛才」（幾分鐘前）或「待會兒」（馬上），視周圍時態而定，語感接近英文 “a moment ago” 或 “in a moment”。
