「settee」在英式英語裡是什麼意思？

在英式英語裡，settee 指一種長軟椅，可供兩三人坐。美國人說 couch 或 sofa 指同一種傢俱。英國人這三個字都用，但 settee 聽起來很英式，在英格蘭北部較常見。所以當英國朋友說「Sit on the settee」，意思就是「坐在沙發上」。

影片列舉房間裡的情況：「There isn’t anybody sitting on the settee either.」（沙發上也沒人坐。）也可以這樣用：Come and sit on the settee. 這是英國家庭日常常用的字。
